I absolutely love this place. My wife and I moved in across the street a week ago, and since we haven't had time to do a grocery shop, we've come to the Charcoal Grill a few times. The food tastes amazing, the prices are really cheap, and the staff are extremely friendly. Many thanks for your vegan options, and you'll be seeing us around at least once a week for a long while!

      First to Review

Acton Charcoal Grill used to be called Mevlana, but the same people are still running it.
Some years ago it was Chorum Kebabs and I have reviewed it previously.

The current owners offer much more than just kebabs. Various burgers, pizzas and fish & chips all feature on the menu.

The real plus point of this place is that they deliver. Very few outlets have ever delivered kebabs to any of the areas I have resided at and only one of those was any good.

I chose a lamb shish on my first visit. It was raining outside and as you can eat in at no extra cost I ended up with a plated kebab.
The meat was OK, nicely spiced and not too much fat but lacking in the succulence that makes skewered kebabs so good.
The salad was OK. The pita bread was grilled just right.
The chilli sauce was a homemade one and was fine but too chilled.
Value wise the small portion of lamb cubes are £4.50 and a small doner of either meat are the cheapest kebab on the menu at £4.

Personally, I would only eat inside here again if I had a small appetite as the larger more authentic offerings at the superior quality Woody Grill are more to my taste.

Having said that, Acton Charcoal Grill is a fair option if you are in the area and I would definitely recommend them if you are in their delivery area (see http://www.meal2go.com or http://actoncharcoalgrill.co.uk ) and are in a kebab mood.
