A good casual spot for Berliner cuisine near to zoo.

Came here with a colleague as we wanted to find something casual that offered local food.

We ordered a couple beers and watched some German football commentary to start. I then ordered the Schweineschnitzel (pork schnitzel) and my colleague ordered the Backhahnchen. Both dishes were good. The schnitzel wasn't the best I've had in Germany, but it was good.

Dessert wise, there is an impressive display full of cakes to choose from...

Service was really good! Our waitress was friendly and attentive!

Loved this spot in the Ku Damm part of Berlin while here to run the marathon. It has such a Euro vibe with all the tables and chairs on the large sidewalk facing the street to watch the world walk by. Ash trays on each. Street musicians would stroll by and perform for a few minutes. Very nice German beer selection served nice and cold. Delicious soups and nice vegan options for meals which we enjoyed. Lively and relaxed. Good prices. Good service. As we had terrific weather we found ourselves here a few times and could have sat here for hours on end. Would definitely go back and we will.

We did not have a good experience at Alt-Berliner Biersalon. Although the service was good, the food was extremely disappointing.

We had a group of 16 and a fixed menu consisting of a first course of "fruity curry cream soup," a second of "fried sausage in onion sauce with mashed potatoes," and dessert of "berry fruit jelly with vanilla sauce." For my vegetarian entree, I was served a baked potato and side salad.

The soup was not good; it had a very strong, pungent taste too it, like the main ingredient was sugar. A couple of people were actually sick to their stomachs upon tasting it.

I was told that the sausage and the sauce were very bland, and the potatoes, which I tried, did not taste like potatoes. It had a very odd flavor, like they used too much of a certain ingredient.

My entree was awful. The baked potato was cold, and it was drowned in this strange creamy white sauce; I had to shovel off at least a quarter-cup of this stuff until I found my bland potato. My salad was old lettuce piled high, with one a big scoop of dressing in the middle. There was so much lettuce that I had to transfer some to my bread plate.

I was told the dessert of fruit jelly and vanilla was fine, but the last time I checked, jelly is NOT vegetarian. I asked if there was gelatin in the jelly, and they said they didn't know. Chances are, it does. Shame on them for not checking/knowing their ingredients. I would've been happy with fresh fruit!

Overall, this place seemed like more of a mediocre tourist trap; avoid it if you can.

I came here for a late lunch and early dinner and had a very good experience.

This is a lively place with a lot of seating and many screens throughout. It's a good place to get a drink and watch sports on the TV and also get a meal.

I had a Weißbier and the Berliner Eisbein. I have never had Eisbein (pork knuckle) before so can't compare the dish at this restaurant to anything, but this Eisbein was very tender and moist with a lot of meat on the bone. It was also very fatty. It came with potatoes and Sauerkraut. All in all, it was a hearty, satisfying meal.

I liked the seating arrangement. There were bar stools you could sit at and also high tables right across in the bar area. In addition, there was a restaurant section with regular tables. I sat at one of the high tables in the bar area. It was comfortable.

This place is open 24 hours. It was pretty lively for a Sunday mid afternoon. The price for my beer and Eisbein came to just about 20 EUR. I recommend trying this place, especially for travelers.

I think I can confidently say that this was my favorite meal while we were in Berlin! My mom, dad, aunt and I swung by on recommendation for breakfast from my good friend Google. Thank goodness we did!! The portions were HUGE, the price was very right, and the fresh-squeezed Orange Juice was absolutely incredible. Our table was full of delicious-looking and tasting food. You can't make a wrong choice for breakfast here, because they are all so good. The service was also great, the perfect amount of check-ins! We were surprised to see it to empty on a Thursday morning, but passed by later around dinnertime and it was completely full. Definitely add to your list for breakfast in Berlin! Tons of shopping around the area as well so there's plenty to do. Enjoy!

Was recommended this restaurant by a local tour guide for the live music. Although there was no live music on a Tuesday night when I went for dinner, it had a great pub like atmosphere and it would seem only appropriate to be at a place with the word bier in the name while in Germany.

I enjoyed it! Very friendly waitstaff and huge huge meal portions. I had the Kasseler which is smoked pork (think, ham) with sauerkraut and potatoes. It was a tad on the salty side but delicious. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and nice and buttery.

Highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for German cuisine as a tourist - most of the other restaurants on the strip were Italian or American.

I liked it. Then again, I was just in the mood for currywurst. It tasted about as good as currywurst gets, paired with some fries. This is probably not the cheapest place to get this item, but the pub has style and lots of outdoor seating. Plus the location is pretty good. During a soccer (football) match the place filled up.

Excellent beer place especially the outdoor section. Great for people watch, while you are enjoying a long glass of cold beer. Of course they have a full menu of drinks and food items as well. Centrally located, friendly staff, ideal to take a break if you are tired. Definitely recommended.

So delicious . Service was great and prompt. Our server was very polite and returned several times to check in on us. The setting is very European where all the seats are facing street making it pleasant to people watch . The five in our party were all deliciously impressed with the taste of our meals. I ordered the beef soup - most definitely one of the best tasting. Another friend ordered the tomato soup - it was hot and filled with great spices. Our vegetarianism our group ordered a steamed veggie plate with hollandaise sauce with crispy onion topping- so delicious! The 4th friend ordered eggs and bacon - seasoned to perfection. Our 5th friend ordered the tuna salad - the flavor was amazing and all ingredients very fresh. The portions are very generous, most definitely shareable. We were all so satisfied. A definite spot to enjoy a delicious meal with great atmosphere!!

Maybe it was the marathon, maybe it was the rain, maybe it was the people.. For whatever reason, the "servants" here had a bad day and consequently: so did we. I can't really say anything about the food nor the drinks, because we decided to leave based on our perception of the service alone: Dreadful
