This is always a treat. The food is always consistently good through all courses. The selection of starters always impresses me, lots of variety.
The staff just can't do enough for you and the courses never feel rushed!
Top notch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 016 Jan 2012Previous reviewHad Christmas Eve dinner here from a set menu. €30 I think it was for the starter, main, dessert and tea or coffee. I had black pudding to start, lamb for mains and pavalova for afters. The black pudding was served with a sausage and small salad, everything on the plate complimented each other excellently and it was not too filling, just the right appetiser before the mains. Lamb was melt in the mouth and there was an abundance of potatoes and veg served to the table for sharing. You can't go wrong with fruit, cream and meringue, in my eyes so I loved the dessert!
I was impressed with their speed of service and how friendly the waiting staff was, considering that they were packed to the rafters and run off their feet.
Becketts was traditionally known as quite an expensive restaurant but they do great deals for early bird and I just noted on their website that they have some great room deals too. - Qype User (BeckBe…)Dublin55026 Jan 2009
This place has the most amazing food ever!! Its super posh and fancy and is a great excuse to get all dolled up for a perfect meal. The menu is brilliant, with very modern, unusual dishes. Instead of chips, they have the best little seasoned potato cubes and I always feel like just gobbling the whole bowl! I always order their soup as its really homemade with lovely homemade brown bread. The service is brilliant, very prompt and friendly. Definetly reccommend coming here, one of my favourite spots! :)

Wonderful, top class restaurant, with consistently good food. You really feel you're in for a treat when you enter this restaurant as you are immediately welcomed, taken to your table - a table beautifully laid with stiffly starched white table linen (which I just love!), gleaming cutlery and glasses. You do get a real sense of treating yourself with such comfy and welcoming surroundings, lovey comfy chairs and the brightness of the restaurant which is located mostly in a conservatory area. I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the past ten years or more but never reviewed it till now and I feel it is definitely warranted! The menu has changed somewhat over the years, but they still do an excellent early bird. A group of five friends and myself thoroughly enjoyed a long and leisurely lunch there on Friday last, but we were very surprised that apart from another table of two, we were the only patrons during the whole 3 hours we spent there! Having said that, the staff were very attentive but did not rush us in any way between curses, in fact the atmosphere and ambiance was extremely relaxing. There was no set lunch menu as such but there was a fairly good, if rather limited a la carte menu which was fairly priced I would say, with starters from €7.50 to €10 and mains from about €11.50 upwards. Our mains included chicken curry, various fish dishes and a vegetarian option. The desserts included a very humble apple pie, a rather good raspberry cheesecake and Eton mess - all courses were very ordinary dishes really, but beautifully served, freshly prepared and nicely presented. I understand they also provide accommodation and I feel an overnight stay would be very enjoyable in such a peaceful setting - yet only a very short distance from Lucan, Leixlip, Celbridge and of course the link to the M4 motorway.

I nearly drool when I think about how delicious the steak is in Becketts. The great thing about here I find is that although its 4-5 star hotel they still make the dining experience an affordable one by offering a really good early bird menu...wait for it...4 course meal for 27 euro! 4 euro supplement if you're getting steak. The food is unreal and doesn't come with pesky side portions...these bad boys are massive! I've had the steak once and the Fish Tempura the last time, batter so light it melts in your mouth and the side salsa was scrum. You nearly always have to book in advance because its always busy but its a lovely quiet spot to have a meal...AND the tables are not rammed together like some restaurants so you manage to catch up with pals or family with a lil privacy! top notch

Food Great, Staff very Friendly and professional, absolutely Shocked to find out that the standard 10% service charge does not go to the Staff (they are told it goes towards paying their wages) Visited 07/03/2018. was there 3 weeks ago with my family service charge was over €80 I assumed that was shared with service staff and only left a relatively small cash tip on top..I will go back, but next time I will confront the manager and demand that no service charge is added to my bill
