This was my fave creperie 16 years ago and still my fave today! Highly recommend the Campagnard and the crepe Sainte Anne. The house chocolate is so good and something I wish I could figure out how to make at home. Highly recommend!

Rennes is the capital of the Brittany region, and Brittany is the birthplace of crepes, so we can safely deduce that Rennes is the capital of crepes.

I came in search of a full-course galette / crepe meal, and was not disappointed. A reliable local recommended "La Gavotte" as being perhaps the best creperie in town, but circumstances prevented me from going this time around, and instead I found myself here, at Saint-Anne.

First, the atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for: rustic and old-worldly; there are sturdy wooden tables and chairs, and massive tree trunks going through the ceiling. I went in the evening, and the place was rollicking like a medieval drinking hall.

They have a wide selection of savory galettes and dessert crepes, organized by category. Prices are certainly reasonable. Taste is conservative, is the best sense possible. All batter is cooked fresh to order, and ingredients are fresh.

There was such a ruckus of fun going on inside that I don't even clearly remember what we ordered for dinner--but there was definitely goat cheese, prosciutto, and an over easy egg involved, and for dessert, salted caramel butter, nutella, and apples.

A basic, traditional creperie that I would not mind repeating.

I love this place... a beautiful old building in the middle of the old town opposite of the cathedral (Sainte-Anne). Lots of people waking around in the narrow shopping streets. Just sit down, enjoy the sunshine with a nice drink and a delicious Crepes the way you like it (cheese, ham, eggs, chocolate, sugar, apple,....)

If you're in Rennes, you've probably already figured this out, but they put anything on a crepe and it is soooo yummy. Move over artificially flavored maple syrup. At Creperie Sainte-Anne they have a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables and even potatoes served up on a melt-in-your mouth crepe. The atmosphere here is relaxed. The food is amazing: hearty, comforting and delicious. They serve a delicious local hard cider there too. Get a pitcher and make sure you are wearing flats unless you are really great at walking on cobble stones in heels after you've had a few.

Very tasty Gallette! We tried the "complete champignons" and the "complete chèvre". The fruit sorbet for dessert was ok. The location is nice, especially now in the summertime sitting in the middle of la place de saint Anne and eat crepes et Gallettes in the sunshine is very nice.

Varied selection of delicious galettes to choose from. Nice atmosphere, although there is certainly a fairly touristy feel to the area. But it's hard to beat good food when you also get to enjoy some sunshine. The service can be a bit chaotic at busier hours, so it pays off not to worry too much or be impatient.
