I didn't make it to the gym today = snow.

Trudging through white matter involved labour intensive effort that I pay for with my PT. So with that ridiculous rationale in mind I ventured to cigar premium - my fecked up rebellion.

Great cigar taste = Mississippi & New Orleans.

Only folks close to me and now you know that I love cigars - for real.

Stepped up here dressed in snow weather as in my baggie tracksuit bottoms = hot.

    "Hello Madame"

-Did someone just talk to me in the royalty sense?

"Would you like an espresso? Madame - no charge."

I abstained and got Partagas....The choice of cigars and service in there is impressive.

So much so I went home pulled out a cool can of Guinness and poured it like there was there no recession and smoked several Partagas'....  The cigars made me put on Cold Sweat from James Brown on the record player.

I looked out at the bursts of feathers from that over head pillow that is the driving snow from above and embraced my inner desire.

Thank you Decent Cigar Emporium for reminding me that what I love about a cigar is to enjoy the moment... & that I am... Wanna smoke one with me?

I visit the Decent Cigar Emporium every time I'm in Dublin.  Being an American I'm not the most knowledgeable about Cuban cigars; however, the staff has been helpful and was able to guide my Cuban purchases that were subsequently comparable to my favorite Dominican and Nicaraguan smokes.  I've become a big fan of the Sancho Panza Delamonte's.  Also, the staff was able to give me advice as to where I could enjoy my cigar with a cocktail.  SamSara Cafe Bar and the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel both have nice outdoor seating areas that are cigar friendly.

My first time buying cigars (for a special occasion) and I see no reason to ever go anywhere else.  Good, knowledgeable, helpful staff, free coffee and the cigars were excellent (Grafton Reserva Robusto - Cuban seed, grown in Panama) - even to my uneducated palate.  Needless to say they went down a treat with the lads too :)

They made sure I was aware of the sepcial offer that knocked an extra 10% off the price if I bought enough too,

LE cubans are hard to sample when you live in the states, but DCE fit the bill nicely..

    1. Super friendly staff and great location on Grafton

    2. Coffee was better than the local cafes

    3. Prices were solid compared to my other sources

    4. They had Behike

    5. They had Opus

    5. A bit warm in the summer time

Well, I suppose calling it the Bloody great Cigar Emporium would be a bit brash but make no mistake, the Decent Cigar Emporium is really underselling itself when it comes to the naming of the place!

In the old days (pre smoking ban) you could wander in here, choose a suitable cigar (Partagás Serie D No. 4 in my case, you know, on the off chance anyone is putting together Qs Christmas list while they read) and relax in the back of the shop puffing away. Sadly those days are gone.

They offer a small but nice selection of humidors and cater to pretty much every budget. The dude who runs the shop is hugely knowledgeable and gives everyone time to choose the right cigar(s).

My only gripe these days is that more often than not I'm pushing a buggy around the streets of Dublin so cant really make it up the stairs to get to the shop! plus... I probably wouldn't get parent of the year awards if I was seen smoking a big Cuban cigar while pushing my wee son around!

If you ever want to feel like you are doing something slightly illegal, but want to avoid committing an actual crime, head to the Cigar Emporium on Grafton Street. It is done out like Sherlock Holmes' private smoking room - all leather and dark wood and ambience - and the staff members talk in the soothing, lowered tones of people coaxing you through a difficult decision.

They were very good at helping me choose a couple of cigars to give as a gift - I had gone in with no clue other than the vague notion that Cubans were good. Apparently, this is a relative judgement. If you are not used to them, "they will blow your head off". Good to know.

So the Decent Cigar Emporium, is the emporium decent or is it the cigars that are decent? well, i suppose its both! decent name for a shop too! :-)

anyway, whatever you are looking for in the way of cigars you are bound to find in here this shop offers sixty types of cigar that are all individually hand rolled in one of the famous cigar making countries such as Honduras, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nicaragua and of course Cuba.

As Quentin pointed out you used to be able to sit in the shop and sample the fine tastes of any of these cigars but nowadays the smoking ban has put an end to it so you can only go as far as sipping a Cuban coffee while sniffing your cigar.

Its worth going into this shop just to see which famous people have visited, celebrities from around the world have signed cigar boxes in the shop and they are displayed for all to see.

My old roommate was a big fan of pipe smoking and I hopped into the Decent Cigar Emporium with him a while back to pick up a bit of pipe tobacco as he was running low. Seeing as neither of us really new anything about tobacco the guy who worked here gave us the run down on all the different types and his own personal favourites. He gave us a whiff of each and my roommate got some amazing stuff that quite literally smelled like rum & raisin ice cream. It was absolutely gorgeous, and if I'm ever pretentious enough to start smoking a pipe, I will definitely get my stuff here.
