Not quite sure why I haven't been here until now...but I'm glad I popped in!
My little sister and I were in the mood for tea and cake and we looked up to see that Fellini's is now called a tea house. We took this as a sign and entered. We were initially a bit confused to have apparently walked straight into an antique shop. Luckily, we took a second to look and saw all the tables to our left and a display counter full of cakes beckoning to us.
We trotted up to the counter to have a look and the very pleasant waiter offered to explain what they had. Everything looked divine-scones, brownies, muffins, lemon tart, apple/mixed berry crumble. I went for lemon tart and little sis had crumble.
My lemon tart was unbelievably good. I'm still thinking about it a week later. Little sis really enjoyed her crumble and my taste of it was really good.
They also do salads/paninis etc. I vaguely considered having a main course after my tart dessert when I saw that other tables had very attractive looking food!
Will definitely return next time I'm back in Cork. Yum!
The litte antique shop is pure kitsch too and very pocket friendly. -

Dublin
Of old cups and hats and tea and a gloves and mirrors and sneaking suspicions that SOMETHING IS UP...
This cafe slightly resembles my home, in that it's full of tea and old things. It became a refuge during a few days gigging in Cork recently. My friend brought me straight there on arrival to Cork because I must like it as it is "full of junk".
I must confess I went there four times. I had excellent chocolate brownies, and ciabatta sandwiches but really I went there to stare at the exquisite ceiling and delicious selection of antiques.
Apart from the high ceilings, and good selection of cake, half the cafe is a vintage shop, crammed full of clothes and teasets and mirrors and old lace and old hairbrushes. I have the disturbing impression along with the subsequent synchronous events that this place may only exist in my mind. Perhaps it's really just a greasy spoon and my poor tired overstimulated musically drained brain conjured it up to make me feel better.
Ah yes, the synchronicities. The first time I was there, deep into a music gossip session, a member of a band from Dublin we were just discussing walked by the window.
The second time I walked in they were playing Suzanne by Leonard Cohen. Perhaps this review only applies to me.
My only beef, literally, is that they tried to give me meat in my sandwich when I requested none, well no, I lie, it was ham. But I still returned the next day to drink tea and stare at the antiques and wait for the next synchronicity...
Synchronicity = (according to http://dictionary.com) Coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related, conceived in Jungian theory as an explanatory principle on the same order as causality. -

Half vintage store, half cute coffee shop... I love it!
Fellinis has been in Carey's Lane for years and has been so many different incarnations of restaurants, but I have to say this is my favourite. We were walking by and peeked in to see an Aladdin's cave of vintage clothes, furniture and jewellery. The other half of the store is very Victorian chic with muffins and cakes on display. In an attempt to broaden my mum's horizons, I dragged her in, telling her we need to support local businesses.
Admittedly it has a bit of a strange vibe, drinking coffee while people come in and browse, but it is quirky and cool. I ordered a hot chocolate and it came in a big jug with marshmallows. Best hot chocolate ever! The chocolate muffin came heated with a little jug of cream, it's the cute touches like this that I love.
After eating I had a quick poky around the store and the stuff is well cheap! Vintage is usually a ridiculous rip off but this is really reasonably priced. Go, check it out!
