Luxurious.  Amazing.  And with a magic that makes you feel so posh.

My partner's company put him up here for a conference, and being an astute opportunist, I tagged along.  Despite having to duck behind a column when his boss saw him checking in, I still feel like I had walked into a fairy tale where I was the princess.  The staff was incredibly nice and made sure that everything I needed was in place.

The room was small but comfortable with a balcony.  When I turned on the TV and they had a channel that was showing the Ohio State v Michigan game, I was sold!

I took advantage of the pool, of which it was only me and one other person.  It was small but long enough to swim laps and was the perfect temperature.  The Gym was also nice.  Again, small but well-equipped and temperature controlled so it was comfortable.  The locker room was opulent and plush with toiletries available for your use and complimentary juices.

I lost my necklace while I was there and the staff helped me go through the locker room until we found it.  Such a nice response to my carelessness!

I didn't get the opportunity to eat here, but I did order room service for breakfast one morning.  It was expensive and we didn't get that much but it was delicious.

I would love to be able to go here again, and not have to hide behind the column =P

Unfortunately, my only experience of the Four Seasons Hotel is as a member of staff. I worked one shift here through a catering recruitment agency who organise silver service waiting staff for functions in the restaurant and ball room.

How extravegantly luxurious this place is. The whole hotel oozes opulence.

We received brief pre-function training, and then off we marched, one by one in line like lemmings, only one plate in each hand. There was one waitress/waiter for every two people. Functions here must cost an absolute bomb.

Entering into the ballroom was like stepping onto the set of Jane Campion's Marie Antoinette - high ceilings, thick-pile red carpet, gold  wallpaper, huge mirrors and glinting chandeliers. I couldn't help but let my jaw drop. The guests were equally lavish (and stonking rich I would say - the event was a charity auction, and I doubt anyone on a less than whopping salary would have been invited). Penguin suits and sequinned evening gowns were the uniform of the evening.

The food looked and smelt divine too, a choice of beef fillet steak or salmon. Droooool. The staff food wasn't half bad thoguh, and we were all entitiled to a main course as part of the shift, which was a nice bonus.

The work itself was a doddle, in and out we went in formation, with no need for initiative and little opportunity to make a mistake. But hopefully the next time I visit the Four Seasons will be as a guest!

Huge, fancy and just a titch snooty, this hotel has a sweeping drive so the doorman can see you coming, and, I can only presume, release the hounds if you look a bit too scruffy.

Inside, the public bar is less of a boozer and more of a 1920s lounge club - people eat cucumber sandwiches and drink tea and cocktails, while a piano player softly tinkles the ivories. Prices are accordingly steep, but it's a great place to bring visitors from abroad - pretend this is actually how you live your life.

You know that adjective Americans use a lot? Awesome? Well this is the perfect time to use it!

I have been lucky enough to have been in here a few times, the last time was in September of this year when my boyfriends brother stayed here with his girlfriend, they were going to see the GAA football final.

Well, where do I start? The front door was opened for us by the nice man in the top hat and we entered the luxurious reception that is like a room made entirely of a warm coloured marble. Behind a big wooden desk a receptionist gleams a big sparkly smile at you. We were going to the ice bar which is is one end of the hotel, so we passed the gorgeous piano room and almost sank into the think pile of the carpet on our way down an elegant corridor, at the end stood a uniformed man who directed us to the icebar, this man's job is just to stand there and assist anyone walking by who needs assistance!

The ice bar is just spectacular, shiny whiteness and uplighters that give the illusion of melting ice give this bar its name, its all so modern and clean spacious. We nearly had a heart attack when we saw the prices on the menu but we smiled at the pleasant waitress and pretended that this place and its prices was totally every day to us.(yeah right it is!)

We went into town for dinner and drinks, the conceirge called us a taxi, we almost got to use their complimentary stretch merc but someone got there just before us (probably very rich people)! thing is they treat everyone the same which I really liked.

After everything in town was shut we found ourselves heading back to the residents bar. Now if i had to end up in any residents bar again I would chose this one. Beautiful antique looking (probably not antique looking, id say they were antiques actually!) furnish the large room off the reception area, and you don't have to huddle at the bar to get a drink, a charming waiter served us from a silver tray when we had made our order. Even as my own boyfriend started to fall asleep on his plush chair a coffee was ordered for him, and he wasn't just handed some mug of sloshing coffee he was given a silver coffee pot with a fancy china coffee cup and a shiny silver sugar bowl with little silver tongs to select his sugar lumps with (good luck in getting him to try use them in the state he was in!). We decided we would leave after a while and walked out past the smoking area that just made you wish you smoked (it has couches and plasma TV's).

I have to describe the toilets too, but they were not just toilets its like being in someones sitting room with attractive chairs facing make up tables where you can adjust your face in style. they of course have gorgeous soaps and hand creams to use and then there are the incredibly thick disposable tissues to dry your hands with. the toilets themselves are made of that same warm marble used in the reception area and there is no plastic toilet seat here, on no!

I WISH I was rich enough to stay here at least once a month but unfortunately I'll have to start saving for a long while instead. or maybe i could try hooking up with Albert Reynolds, he lives in a suite on the top floor I believe! Hi Albert, if your reading! :-)

In the leafy Embassy-strewn suburb of Balllsbridge, this six story red-brick hotel sits majestically in the grounds of the Royal Dublin Society. The Four Seasons is a stalwart of Dublin society and as befits its stature, plays host to numerous charity balls.

Robbie Williams also stays here sometimes when the Morrison is full.

The restaurant is lovely and so is the outside eating area and they do a lovely lunch and brunch menu.

I'm not sure I'll ever have enough money to stay in or dine at the five star Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge in Dublin 4, but I did have to attend a work thing there one time so I got to have breakfast, courtesy of the company credit card. It was yummy and worth every penny (belonging to my boss!). I have been able to afford a drink in the hotel's Lobby Lounge, however, and it was an experience worth every one of my own pennies. It was New Year's Day this year that my friends and I splashed out on a cocktail. I had a Christmas Delight, a delicious concoction made up of vodka, fresh cream and some other alcoholic substance, while my mate went for the Sleigh Bells - a variation of vodka and berries and something else pretty toxic. Her husband stuck with tradition and had a pint of Guinness. At €12.75 a pop, the cocktails were hardly cheap, and neither was the Guinness, which was €6. But at least we weren't hungry as the menu informed us that if we were and wanted a ham and cheese sandwich, it would set us back €18! But it's the Four Seasons and you don't go there for a bargain, so if you're feeling flush I'd definitely recommend you spend an hour or two in the Lobby Lounge. Apart from the plush surroundings and relaxing atmosphere, it's a great place to people watch. And the staff wait on you hand and foot, topping up the bowls on the tables with fancy nuts and making sure you are OK.
