Cute restaurant tucked away on a residential street. Service was okay but the food was really good. I loved my dishes which were all the seafood ones. I tried the lamb dishes as well but I thought the seafood dishes really stood out. Everything was very fresh and cooked just right. The poached char with creamy spinach, poached egg yolk and bacon emulsion was rich and amazing.

Confit lobster with pea, radish and lobster jelly
Poached char with creamy spinach, poached egg yolk and bacon emulsion
Pan seared ray with fennel, olive and calamaretti
Pan seared saddle of lamb with wild garlic risotto, oyster mushroom and tomato
Braised lamb shoulder with polenta, bell pepper and poverade

3 stars don't describe it fully, so let's be specific:

      Food: awesome
      Service: terrible
Ambiente: feels like a train station since the service personnel is always on the run

Net net: great food with lots of room for improvement in the sevice

wow, wow, and wow. this place was delicious, simple chic yet cozy with a small fireplace roaring in the background and our waiter, regis made this experience unforgettable. the four of us unanimously agreed this was the best dinner we had during our visit through germany, austria and the czech republic. it was so good, that it is on the top 10 list of best dining experiences we've had ever!
we choose the 5 course tasting menu- scallops prepared 2 ways, one as a cerviche which was my favorite, the other perfectly grilled and seasoned, another dish was the pork belly which 2 of the 4 of us voted as best dish, cod cooked 2 ways- one as a fritter which was amazing, venison that was so tender it melted in your mouth and to end the meal a fabulous nougat with homemade ice cream. each dish was impressive in presentation as well as taste, which was further enhanced by regis' attention to every detail- if i could only describe each dish the way he did! thank you hartmann's and regis for showing these new yorkers a night we will never forget!
