Today, I voted early. This year, I had requested an absentee ballot (you know, cause the pandemic and all that). I think the decision to request an absentee ballot was made in a bit of a panic, and I later decided that I would have preferred to vote in person. I decided to bring my mail-in ballot with me and ask them if I could vote in-person instead. When I arrived, I saw the "early voting" sign upon entry. I also saw a line inside upon entering and started to get in line, it turns out that line was for drivers licenses. After finding the early voting area, I talked to a staff member and asked them about voting in-person instead of using my mail-in ballot.

Be warned, I was told that because I had already requested my mail-in ballot, I could not vote in-person and should just fill out the ballot and drop it in the box on-site. While it wasn't my preference (I'm not sure why, just a mental thing I suppose), that was fine with me. I filled out the rest of my ballot, and dropped it into the box. The woman at the desk was kind enough to help me seal the envelope. There was no line for early voting and it seemed pretty seamless. I did see someone wearing a politically-affiliated face mask advocating for a candidate in the polling area. I'm not sure if the same rules apply to this place not on Election day, but I'm pretty sure you can't do that (and think something should have been said). Regardless, with the process this easy, there's no excuse to not have your voice heard. Think of yourself, your loved ones, and go make your voice heard. VOTE!!!!!!
