I can hardly believe The Mango Room is located where it is, in the heart of the odious tourist grim hole that is Camden. The character and quality of this place is very at odds with the surroundings.
I popped in for a quick post meeting lunch and I can't believe how good it is. The menu is very impressive and I had a lot of trouble picking, eventually going with a safe choice of jerk chicken breast with rice and beans. Simple but fantastically prepared with amazing flavours. I was stunned by the dish and gobbled it down in half the time I should have. I was hungry but I am not sure that mattered. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
All this and the staff was very nice and the atmosphere was very charming. Nice wood floors, exposed bricks and large pieces of modern art. A nice place to be and if you find yourself in Camden, definitely check it out.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Adrian F.Clinton Hill, United States96013310507 Mar 2017
I had amazing food here and could not wait to try it again.
I brought more friends with me and have been hyping the food here all day.
I was sadden when I arrived to see the place was completely boarded up with a sign that read
" Thank you for your service over the years."
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they are permanently closed until further notice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adele D.London, United Kingdom49110764 Jun 2016
Amazing Caribbean food I love this place - a modern twist on amazing flavours and great cocktails - a must visit! We tried duck, land, salmon and steak and well I can't fault one dish! They were each presented lovely and had their own unique flavours. We had prawns and scallops to start which were also lovely! Cocktails were amazing I had the Jamaican Mule which was tasty and strong! It was busy but we managed to get a table on Saturday night! Also they have a little bar area so nice place to go if you like cocktails

Best meal we had in London. We loved this place! Met a friend here for dinner one night and everything from the drinks to the appetizers, entrees, to the dessert were all so very delicious.
We started with the ebony wings: good flavor, not spicy for us. So good we wanted more.
Then we ordered the jerk pork and the curry goat. The curry goat was so tasty and I usually don't order curry, since it's not generally my fave. This entree however was well balanced, not overpowering. I'm writing this review and craving it now.
Then came dessert: sticky toffee pudding. It comes warm as with ice cream. I was sad I had to share :) it was just that yummy.
Service was great--we had a reservation so we were seated once we arrived. Our waitress was helpful and quick.
If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy some Caribbean flavors, I recommend Mango Room without hesitation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sophie E.London, United Kingdom02846821 May 2009First to Review
I was brought here by a friend who wanted to treat me for my birthday.
It was the first time I'd tried Caribbean food and oh-my-god! It's amazing!
The service was absolutely fabulous, with a very friendly waiter who recommended the perfect wine, and helped us understand what all the odd words on the menu were.
Also, at £10 to £14 for a main course, this place won't break the bank! 3 of us had dinner, 3 courses each with a bottle of wine to share, and it came down to about £35 each! For London, this is one very good deal! Do bear in mind that the portions were not huge, so american-style eaters should consider that. They were, however incredibly delicious!
I can't wait to go back and have some super delicious food!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erkuden G.Leuven, Belgium0114 Jul 2018
Great food at an affordable price! Good quality and very nicely spiced. We got the food served very fast. The service was average since the waitress was not pretty dry and not very friendly.

It's not the traditional Carribean food you'd get at your Grandmothers or in Brixton, but it was amazing none the less! The curry goat was stunning and generous. Remember to order some roti in addition to truly get a bit of Carribean flare.
I was highly impressed by the Mango Room. Goat is a notoriously difficult meat to prepare, but the chef produced a tender perfectly cooked plate that I overindulged in.
Give this place a try, especially if it's date night. I'll definitely be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Grace L.Beverly Hills, United States01321 Apr 2016
The decor is lovely and they are attempting gourmet Jamaican food. However, only 3 stars as this isn't value for money. Starter portions for main course...pleaase. I like the concept but work on the product.

Came here on a Sunday evening. It was not crowded at all. The place is airy, but the restaurant has two dining areas.
Started with a caipirinha, and it was refreshing. Had the tuna for dinner. Nothing bad but nothing to rave about as well. Got the Jamaican run flambeed bananas for dessert. Interesting attempt but again, nothing extraordinary.
Overall, good service, different type of cuisine, decent food. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Goetz B.London, United Kingdom6743419128 May 2011
Mango Room is a surprisingly nice place that offers delicious food and actually good and nice service. I read some reviews here and was not sure what to expect. But when I was there, I was very happy with both, my grilled goats cheese as a starter and my chicken with coconut curry sauce and roti bread as a main. I also enjoyed my kind of fruity white wine. Finally the warm chocolate with cocos cake as dessert also tasted delicious.
The only disappointing thing was the normal bread. This just tasted like a toast without being toasted. As someone who really likes good bread, this was definitely the weak point of this otherwise great meal.
It is however not the cheapest restaurant, but also not too expensive. I can definitely recommend this place. The selection of wines looked really good, and I might also go there again just to try the cocktails ...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
