Oh French pastries. I love what they do with fruit. I had a blueberry tart on a base of custard, plus a very Irish pot of tea. A delicious treat and lovely environment to chill and enjoy. It's lovely having a little part of Paris practically on my doorstep.

All right... I have been back quite a few times since the incident I had. I even got the Irish ham sandwich on focaccia because I am not the type of person who responds emotionally to food. I love to eat, it doesn't matter if there's a hair on my soup or if a rat runs past me, if it tastes good I'm happy. But I must say the two Irish hams I got were both foul, the ham was hard and brown from probably being in the fridge, there was hardly any of it. It was the saddest looking sandwich I've ever had, nothing like what it used to be.
The pastries are still good though grossly overpriced.
I cannot forgive these people for serving me utter crap more than twice and I think they need to step up their game.

I have no idea who those two happy people are in the photo of this business, I went there expecting them but alas they have moved on to other places with their happy heads.

Firstly hurrah! The Northside has a place to be proud of, a proper café with superb food at fantastic prices.

Nestled in the hubbub of Moore street is this wonderful addition to the city. It is a bakery and at the back you can see them making the bread. The decor is clean and harks back to cafés that my Mam used to take me to, so it's no surprise that you will see old dears, hipsters and professionals frequent this place side by side - a terrific sign.

I got the Irish ham sandwich which came with three options of bread; baguette, focaccia and panini (to be honest I could be wrong about the last item as my mind just drew a blank). I got it with the focaccia bread, absolutely delicious and satisfying. It cost a bit more to eat in €5.20 to be exact! Seriously terrific value for the quality of the ingredients.

The owners are French so no pretend "French Cuisine" in the house. The older lady in her baker gear went table to table with a basket of warm just baked bread and offered everyone some. Of course all the Irish looked shocked,

"Where's the catch? Free my eye, nothings free, probably have to pay some bread tax on it to that shower in Frankfurt."

"It feckin is free Mary! It's cause they are foreign, that's why they are doing this."

"Jaysus! Go on then put some in your handbag for later. It's free!"

I felt the servers pain, I too give you free things via Yelp from time to time and I always will get one look from someone that screams,

"She must be the head priestess of a cult... I'll take my free bottle opener but I'm watching you. You big weirdo."

    But I digress...

Coffee was good too and €2.60 for an americano but the sandwiches and bread are the reason to go there. Also their logo is a fleur de lis and anyone that knows me knows my ties to that symbol.... Go Saints!

    p.s
They don't accept debit or credit cards yet according to their sign so I presume eventually they will.

We popped in based on the reviews on Yelp. It was pleasant on a Sunday afternoon. Live French music is a nice touch and the singer wasn't too bad.

The bread here looks and is fab. I just see from another reviewer @Kim C, that they got a basket of bread when they arrived, no show for us - bummer!

I had the Italian Ham sandwich on a baguette and it was very good, the bread was a winner. My better half opted for the steak sandwich with chips. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the chips were great.

We got a sourdough loaf of bread and cake to go, both very good and the bread lasts a few days.

All in all pretty good, only docked a point from the rude guy at the till when we were paying.

I am hoping to end my five star streak to date but it won't be with this place! Have only been here two times but both exquisite. The bread is so good and they give you a nice basket of it when you sit down. The menu is diverse with pastries, sandwiches and mains. The pricing is very reasonable and there is something for everyone on it.

Had the pate, which is a starter, one day and left feeling very full. Next time I had the salmon ravioli, which is a main and completely made by hand, and thought I would burst.

The location of this French establishment is rather unusual in that it is surrounded by carts filled with fruit and veg, a lidl and tons of non-European places but maybe that is exactly what makes it such a good fit.

On your way out make sure to pick up a few pastries and bread for your friends. Just don't tell them where you got it so we can all continue to get seats here!

My new favourite place for coffee and a croissant North of the Liffey.  If you are addicted to your big brand chain of coffee shop then I dare you to give this place a try.  I usually end up leaving with a 'Baguette du chef' to take home for my lunch as the quality of the breads and pastries is really top notch.

They are open from breakfast through to dinner and all of the dishes I have seen coming out of the kitchen at the back of the café look very good.  I personally can vouch for the pastries, breads, sandwiches and the meat & cheese platter to share which I've tried so far.

As the previous reviewer mentioned this is a gem amongst a somewhat more eclectic range of eateries, shops and stalls on Moore Street.  To tip it over the edge of 4 stars and into the 5 star range the staff are polite, the toilets are the cleanest I've seen in Ireland and there is baby changing facilities.

Well worth a visit if you are anywhere near O'Connell Street or Henry Street.

this is a great little cafe in the heart of moore street.  with its lovely menu of pates, goats cheese brioches and little fruit tarts this is a gem.  and the breads looked delicious although i didn't buy any. its a french cafe and the day i was there, there was a group of french people beside me so i figured it must be good and authentic!
now i've never thought of moorse street as a place that i would go looking on for a cafe but with its location beside henry street and the ilac center its no bother to walk there.
for the tourists visiting the cafe they will certainly get a taste of dublin street traders with their cappucinos!
now i find it very hard to find a good coffee in dublin, usually too weak a blend or too cold but here i got a lovely americano with warm milk which really hit my coffee spot!
the only not so good thing for me is that he the little tables are very crammed together and not a great place to bring a book to read and relax if alone but i did notice lots of couples so if i can find someone who likes to bring me on a cheap cofffee date then i'll come back here although where we'd go after i've no idea.
