The Peacock Theatre is little sister to The Abbey Theatre with whom she sits side by side. The Peacock is over a third smaller than the Abbey and slightly less comfortable but it is generally known for producing edgier, younger shows. This is certainly true of an alarming yet brilliant production of 'Woman and Scarecrow' by Marina Carr which I saw there a year or two ago.

The theatre is equipped with a full bar and should you feel the need to indulge, you are welcome to order drinks in advance which will be waiting for you at the interval. Tickets for performances in the Peacock range from €15 - €25 but concessions are available for students, the unemployed and equity members.

The Peacock Theatre is adjacent to the Abbey, it is the smaller theatre of the two. Very small actually! But I must admit I do prefer this venue to the Abbey because it is more intimate and any of the productions that I have been to have to be more inventive with the use of space as it's a three tiered ascending audience and the stage is in the centre. One production that was very memorable consisted of the players swinging from a monkey frame! It was great.
