Finding a place to eat in the Reading/Wokingham area without a reservation is challenging to say the least. Prezzo had table with a very short wait around 22:00 which was enough to get us in the door.

For a starter our table shared the bruschetta which consisted of large, halved grape tomatoes on crisp sourdough toast. I had the rocket and parmesan salad (delicious) and fusilli with mushrooms and cream sauce.

The restaurant itself is very open and a little bit loud for easy conversation. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient and the wine list is a great complement to the variety of tasty pasta dishes we tried around the table.

I would certainly recommend Prezzo if you are in the Wokingham/reading area, but a reservation is certainly preferable.

Good food. Decent service. Cramped space. Lovely terrace. Not quite as good as Zizzi.

This is a very popular Italian Restaurant situated in the heart of Wokingham.
The service is good and the food is good quality. I have never received faulty service or food here.
Only thing is that tables are quite close together making life a little difficult for disabled people.

Otherwise a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. However at weekends the noise level does increase, inside and outside. There is a club round the corner but I have never suffered because of this.

      Everything reasonably priced.

There is a main car park and the restaurant is less than 5 mins walk away.

We ate here on a midweek lunchtime. It was busy when we arrived, with just a few tables still free. Quite a mix, the diners were. Mums with babies, families quietly celebrating birthdays perhaps. And quite a few of the elderly. All seemed happy enough.

The table and decor were nice enough. Nothing outstanding or memorable.

We were attended by a variety of waitresses. The ones I presumed more senior were fast and efficient, but rather grim-faced. Not a smile from any of them. One waitress seemed more junior. She was quite pleasant fortunately. A few smiles from her!

Main courses were almost a tenner each. My wife enjoyed hers. Mine was the chicken & asparagus risotto. It was okay. The chicken was of the type you'd empty out of a packet from Iceland or Tesco. Not bad on a sandwich at home. Far from spectacular on a £10 dish. But fine.

Our desserts were delicious. For almost a fiver each, they were miniscule. My cheesecake slither was almost two-dimensional. I took it in tiny spoon scrapings, savouring it. Proper spoon-fuls would have seen it gone in less than the blink of an eye. But it was beautiful. Banana cheesecake something-or-another.

So, fine. Just fine. Merely fine. And fine gets a place three stars.

We used a voucher to get one main course free (from MoneySavingExpert.com). I think if I'd paid a tenner more, I'd be disappointed.

To get me back, there'd have to be a bit of improvement. Smile training for the staff would be a start. But there are too many places that are better than 'fine', for me ever to return, really.

Always busy so obviously popular Italian restaurant in what was the old Tescos. I've probably eaten there with my girlfriend at least ten times where the pizzas, pasta, grilled chicken & salad based dishes have always been good & reasonably priced. We have turned up without a booking on a Friday night to have great meal. Our last visit was booked for 20:45 on St Valantines 2009 - all three courses great & prompt & friendly service. One of the better of many, many Italian restaurants in Wokingham!

Always busy and very popular, the food is very good though and so is the service, i prefer this place at lunchtimes as the evenings do get booked up. Very clean place though and good service.

I love the food here as it's always delicious. Good with children too. Children's menu is simple which is a good thing as you can make a quick, easy decision. Only minor point is the acoustics inside make hearing each other sometimes difficult on a busy day/night.
