This restaurant was about as good as it gets from beginning to end. As picturesque as possible to perfection with the view of each grape varietal planted & labeled outside by the terrace. The dishes & bowls & serving dishware were works of art & what was in them, even better. The service was impeccable as well as our whole experience. Will definitely return on next trip.

I can't say more but if you are ever in Bordeaux, Jean-Luc served up one of our best meals in France.
It has been a long time since we enjoyed and was surprised by almost every course of the tasting menu. Too many Michelin-starred restaurants have been "meh, really? A star?". This one deserved its 2 stars.
If not for oysters waiting for us down the Atlantic coast, we would have stayed for lunch the next day.
This is definitely on our list the next time we are back in Bordeaux.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aileen N.Outram, Singapore, Singapore384524 Aug 2014
I'll give this as many stars as there are. 5 yelp stars do not do them justice! Possibly the best meal I've had in years! We stayed 1 night in the Chateau, pretty and perfect - nothing to fault the stay. The most amazing part of the stay is the restaurant - mind blowing, out-of-this-world good! We went for the tasting menu, 175 euro, a little pricey but worth every dollar! Each dish was a pleasant surprise, so impressive and wowed us! I couldn't have ask for anything more - except maybe another lunch there the next day?
So pleased with the meal that we left a message to tell the chef that this was the best meal in years! Major highlight of the trip, it's going to be hard to top this!
Worth the 2 Michelin star!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Joel L.Boulder, United States238229 Oct 2016
Let me clarify this review by saying that I did not stay at this Chateau. I was lodging in a different Chateau in Bordeaux, but I made a point to come to the two Michelin star restaurant located within the Chateau Cordeillan-Badges.
I really hate writing negative reviews about chef's and their kitchens and servers who work so incredibly hard, but unfortunately this was not a good dining experience for me and my guest. It is difficult to write reviews about this "caliber" of restaurant and be taken seriously because the spotlight seems to always turns on the ignorance of the person dining. I am not on the hunt to undo successful chefs, I just love food and the restaurant experience, so I seek them out carefully. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was in desperate need of inspiration. Every other corner of this chateau is absolutely beautiful and stimulating beyond question, however the restaurant didn't bring that flair. Our service was also unusually disinterested. Obviously, this was not just typical "French" relaxed service style, but we both had finished dishes sitting in front of us at the table for too long. At one point I had to consciously stop myself from moving the plate over to the side to be picked up because it was sitting there for so long. We opted for the chef's tasting and everything was prepared beautifully but the portions were consistently large and flow from dish to dish was not clear. In the end it was too much food. I could not eat a wafer thin mint more. The night was not terrible, the food was meticulously prepared and very beautiful, but with each course I was thinking, WOW I'm wondering why this is a 2 star Micheline restaurant, because I've eaten at many 1 star restaurants that out performed it. Possibly the restaurant experience is meant to be paired with the stay in the Chateau.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Padraig M.Boston, United States6113186 May 2012
hotel; modern interior in the rooms. Normal size for this market (i.e. somewhat small). Even has a basic pool area.
Dinner was fantastic. Great experience, the staff were efficient and quite friendly (which is a nice change for this type of cuisine). They were even somewhat accommodating for my non-dairy needs. I've heard the chef has moved to paris, hope its still as good!!! had lobster cooked in a plastic bag, foie gras with chocolate and papaya and liquid nitrogen tomato-ball soup - quite unexpected all but excellent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie L.Sunnyvale, United States026165630 May 2013
The settings of this place is unbeatable. You're right next to a vineyard inside a hotel. The service is also really great. Food, however, is a little bland.

We arrived and were ushered out on the terrance, overlooking the vineyard and the neighboring chateau for an aperitif and to review the menu. It was a beautiful evening and the champagne was refreshing. We ordered the tasting menu and asked the sommelier to pair each dish with a wine. He was pleased, to say the least.
I can't recall every dish we ate. I know we had some dishes with an asian influence, like the seafood soup and foie gras. Each dish was a picture of presentational perfection. Each dish had something of a surprise but the flavors blended and complimented each other in ways that were delightful.
The sommelier's pairings were spot on. He even poured 2 different vintage white Bordeaux of the same Chateau (a 1978 and a 1986) to go with our crab dish so we could taste the difference in the vintages.
You can tell when a chef or a sommelier really loves their craft. It is an art. The restaurant has it's Michelin stars for a reason.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carl H.Newport Beach, United States1129 Apr 2015
This is truly a five star that others should be measured against. The setting was beautiful, the service prompt , courteous and helpful. The food was spectacular with my duck entree my best ever (and I love duck). Not being an expert on Bordeaux wines I stuck with the house chateaus wine. It was excellent and it was nice since my wife is a light drinker that I could get a half bottle.
