Retrospect is amaaaaazing. As I approached the store I could see lots of interesting and unusual lamps and I was drawn to their brilliance like a moth to a flame. As soon as I realized that this was a vintage store I died of happiness. Then I realized it was the kind of vintage store that sold high-quality, beautiful, ungodly expensive items that I needed to have in my life, I went to heaven. I LOVE these types of stores.
Retrospect sells furniture, lamps, chandeliers, curios, objects and home wares that are Scandinavian, mid-century, art deco, vintage, retro, etc. It looks exactly like a place I want to live. I asked if I could sleepover tonight but the guy working looked a little scared so I pretended like I was joking.
Their website says they focus on finding quality, interesting stuff instead of just on big designy names like EAMES. They also focus on more time periods than just mid-century, so the store is an eclectic mix of pieces from different decades. As a result of these two things, the store is accessible and down to earth and awesome. I hate that I can't afford anything there.
