What's better than an unassuming artist's diner that's big on atmosphere and organic food?
Answer: Not a whole lot ( besides rainbows, world peace and kittens)

On a quiet afternoon this quiet side-street cafe is the perfect venue to meet and greet with creative types over bowls of organic vege soup and (disappointingly pedestrian at €2.50) cappuccinos. Just off the busier thoroughfare of Cow's Lane, Smock Alley Cafe enjoys all the benefits of its location at the heart of a bustling arts community without the noise, loiterers or (sometimes) hard to navigate street fairs.

The clean, bright interior is home to laptop toting students, arguing academic types, families, wandering tourists who can't believe their good luck as well as those calm souls who need a place to think and write up overdue story outlines.
The staff are friendly and unobtrusive. Order your coffee and crispy, fruity flapjack at the counter and the waitress will bring it to your table -a relief to anyone who's tried balancing armloads of books plus a chittering cup and saucer around a crowded room.

Delighted to have a new favourite place for creativity and quiet in the busy city centre!

This place is very unassuming and that is it's wonderful selling point. They serve organic food. Had a bowl of soup here, very tasty and some yummy brown bread with it too. Usual Dublin city centre prices.

I love the location as you are not in the busy heart of Temple Bar but you still get enough foot traffic to people watch. It's big and roomy inside and is a popular spot for the workers in the area. I never feel rushed when I am in there and have often mulled over my coffee and paper for a lengthy amount of time.
