      These Super Heat guys are neighborhood super heroes.

      We were in a jam with our AC unit shutting down during one of the terrible heat waves earlier this summer. I called everywhere, and the demand was too great for most places. However, Bob picked up right away, and while he was on the move he scheduled an appointment with us the next day.

      Jessy and Carlos showed up to the appointment, and they were total pros. Immediately pinpointed the issue, and cleaned both our AC units on top of the repair to prevent any further issues. They were also friendly and cool the entire time, despite crazy temperatures and it being the end of no doubt a long day for them. Jessy offered some advice on another HVAC question I had, and Carlos even helped my neighbor out with a stuck door--what a guy.

      Businesses like Super Heat make our neighborhood great. Whether you're in Pilsen or anywhere else in the city, give them a call.

      HVAC/AC

      Called and they were able to swing by within the hour today (Saturday) to check it out. I appreciate the quick response since I'm fucken dying of heat here.

      They will return on Monday 7am. Will update then.

      Was told I needed a new furnace by one vendor, Sergio came out to give a second opinion. Was able to diagnose and fix the issue in under an hour.

      Highly recommended.

      Need A/C repair? This is a father-son team and they were out at my place within 24 hours of my call for service. I called at 7PM and the son, Sergio, was there the next afternoon by 4PM! It's been over 90 degrees for 36 days this year so I was thrilled to have help on the way.

      I appreciated that they were able to tell me what was wrong immediately and upon my consent, ordered the parts immediately.

      Sergio came with two helpers and they were considerate of the property and I was comfortable having them in my building. They were very professional in their work and conversation and as if it couldn't get better, I felt safe (ladies, you know what I mean) and respected. I would recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC work!

      Basically this is a father and son crew. I had called them yesterday to repair a heating unit in my condo where my renters lived. I was happy b/c the son arrived that evening and was able to tell me the problem right away. He said he'll call me in the morning to let me know what the part and cost would be.

      Next morning, no call. Not wanting to delay this if possible, so my renters don't freeze, i call them instead - the father answers and lets me know the cost. $125 for labor (which is steep, considering that's what other companies charge for overtime work - i called a few others before this one) plus a few hundred in parts. I looked up the part (a inducer motor assembly) online and it costs about $100-$150 and there's nothing that's over $200 - they were charging me $325 for it. I say ok, let's do it. The owner says his son will stop by 6-7 in the evening. I leave all the information he needs, including my renter's numbers, and my own in case something goes wrong or they have trouble reaching them. I even called the son to make sure. He says all good.

      That evening my renter texts to tell me that no one's showed up. I say let's give them another hour and call to leave a message with the son. I called the shop but no one picks up. An hour later, still no show - i call the son again and leave him another message. No return call, no show. I call the shop and finally get in touch with the owner and he starts to give me some bs about how his son can't get in touch with my renters. I tell him that i had left messages, and he and his son have my number to call and let me know if they had problems. He says maybe they have to reschedule or something. I tell him that's unacceptable. He says he'll call the son to see what's up.

      30 minutes later my renter texts me and lets me know that the owner is there to do the job himself and told him some story about how his son's van broke and couldn't get in touch with him. My renter tells me that he got a call from the son to let him know his father will be there to do the job. So the story doesn't make ANY sense.

      I don't know what's going on in the shop between the dad and the son but it's not a good feeling to pay premium price to get something fixed and also babysit a business. I mean, in this economy when i'm shelling out money i can't afford, the least that they can do is to get the job done without me having to oversee and bitch at them. It's unbelievable to me that they couldn't be on the up and up with me and let me know when things went wrong so i don't leave my renters in the cold and keep me updated with any problems.

      Maybe this was a rare occasion, but hey, that's my experience and my rating. In either case, the pricing is probably high so i'd compare before committing.

      Update: The owner did send me an email to apologize and to give me a 5% discount, so that gets them one more star up. But overall still unhappy about the experience.

      The 2011 Chicago Blizzard not only left snow and power outages- it left me without heat. My condo association recommended S.H. and I was impressed by the customer service and work.

      One call, and a tech arrived within a couple hours- fast response!

      Sergio, took time to explain his inspection while trouble shooting the unit. That provided a great sense of confidence/trust in the work.

      Reasonably priced, thoroughly explained, completely satisfied!

      My AC wasn't working and so I called SuperHeat. Sergio came out, was professional and on time, and tried various fixes until he finally figured out that my unit was configured incorrectly from when it was first installed and redid the wiring.

      This was a problem that two other HVAC companies I reached out to had no idea how to fix. Sergio's demeanor and astounding technical ability really impressed me and was clearly heads and shoulders above the competition. Don't waste your time calling other places, get SuperHeat to fix your heating and air conditioning right!

      My furnace had been out for three days, and since it's new and under warranty, I gave the guy who installed (Solarmax) it a chance to come fix it and make good on his warranty. Repeated calls, promises, no show for an appointment.

      We call Super Heat. They come out within an hour, very helpful, very professional, explained what was wrong, said 'we could replace this part, but I don't think that's necessary.' Gave me a good feeling that I was dealing with straight-up people.

      And my heat's back on. Sweet.

      Super Heat did a wonderful job of solving a serious HVAC problem in my high rise building. The units were installed in such a way that it was not possible to access the main coil for cleaning. Sergio cut through the outside vent louvres in order to reach the screws to remove the outside vent and access the coils for cleaning. Bob, the owner, his son Sergio, and another technician were all very professional, polite, and extremely helpful. They even went out of their way to do this service in the morning of the day they were going out of town to celebrate a family event.

      I am very appreciative of the great job that they did, and will call upon them for all my future HVAC maintenance and issues! (Past HVAC companies that I used did what they could without ever mentioning this serious issue. When I brought this issue up to the last company, the response was that this coil simply wasn't accessible.) Super Heat was the company that took it a step further, finding and applying this solution to the problem.

      Thank you, Super Heat!

      Sergio cut out 2 small louvres to reach in, loosen the screws, & remove the outer vent so he could access & clean the coils.
