This is a nice big Superquinn. The fresh bread at the front door is a killer and always makes me reach for a big, fresh, white roll. They also have nice buns, sweet breads and cakes. It's almost too big for me and the layout is a little confusing sometimes but it's a good shop.
They have lots of special offers and the meat counter is very good. It could be my timings but sometimes the fruit and veg supply is low or some of the produce is a little over-ripe. They also have a great wine section.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kate M.Dublin383663444 Jul 2009First to Review
Superquinn is great - it's Irish, it's fresh and their bakery and butcher section is second to none.
There are only a handful of stores around the country, but if there's one in your local area, then you're lucky! It's my local supermarket and I have to say, it's a really enjoyable shopping experience. The supermarket is really well laid out, they have everything you need and they always give samples! That's a big plus, in my book.
They also do great deals too - various products they have on offer for €1 and €2, other items reduced etc. These are all displayed in a little brochure as you enter the shop, which is great for browsing before you actually hit the certain aisles. It's just a small thing, but with times being tough economically, it's certainly welcome.
Their butchers section is great too - they always do great stuff for bbq's - and their fish counter is mouth watering.
Superquinn gets a big thumbs up from me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wesley W.Dublin8868796215 Dec 2015
This is a great place to shop if you are in Blackrock. This location has been done up nicely and has many great features here you will not find at other SuperValu locations. They have a deli area with a great selection of tapas, ready cooked dinners made fresh, and a sandwich bar. The selection here also is much better and seems to have many of the higher end items you normally would only find at specialty shops or M&S. The only thing which bothers me about this place is the fact that for some reason around lunch and dinner time it is completely filled with elderly shoppers who for whatever reason congregate at those times and the queues come to a standstill. We stopped going in to get lunch from the deli due to this and i have stopped going in after work for the same reason. But if you avoid those two times you will find the queues are not bad and the selection is brilliant.

We got two bottles of white wine from Superquinn , 1 was a 2009 Superquinn Californian Colombard Chardonnay Classic Collection which went great with the chicken dish we had, then later we had a bottle of Lindemans Tollana Chardonnay 2009, the first had a sharp but lovely flavour and the second was smooth and refreshing

This is a pretty big Superquinn (from what I've been told) with a large bakery, a fishmonger and cheese shop inside. This would be the main place I do my grocery shopping in Blackrock, and it's location is great in the Blackrock Shopping Centre. The prices seem cheap compared to a lot of other places, and the quality of the Superquinn products is good for the price. There's everything you'd need in a supermarket here although they could expand their selection in the off-license a little bit. It can get awfully busy sometimes as well, with queues backing up into the aisles at times. Also, the woman at the deli was very helpful to me my first time while adjusting to grams when ordering sliced meat.

I used to love going for tea in my granny's house as a kid because she'd always have sausages and crispy fresh French bread from Superquinn. The supermarket branch in Blackrock is particularly large, and I actually get excited about shopping here. The fresh bread section alone is mesmerising, with about 4 different varieties of brown soda bread (which you can bring up to the kind lady at the counter and she will slice it for you on the spot) amongst all the French breads, olive and sundried tomato stuffed focaccias, croissants, danish pastries, and weighty tea bracks. The service is personal and friendly; the butchers know their stuff and will not only help you choose the right cut of meat, but also recommend how best to cook it, or even recommend a recipe to try. The cheese counter is pungently aromatic, stocking the best and smelliest Irish and French cheeses. Conveniently positioned beside the cheese is the wine cellar, which is always well stocked (particularly with French wines) and often has good special offers.
The prices are higher than average (obviously much much higher than Aldi or Lidl), but the produce here is guaranteed Irish, and very very fresh.
The best thing of all about Superquinn is all the tasters that are on offer as you browse - you could go shopping on an empty tummy and happily eat your fill of glorious goodies as you make your way around the supermarket. You certainly don't get that in Aldi.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
