I walked into this place by chance the first week they opened and have been returning regularly since.
The atmosphere in this place is buzzing and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
The food is really tasty and great value. It's perfect if you don't want a meal but nibbles with friends.
This is where I was introduced to a "Spritz", an Italian aperitif that uses Aperol and Prosecco. Now I can't visit this place without having one - gorgeous. -

I guess that fact that Taste of Emilia is always full of Italian expats should be a clue to everyone else as to how good it is.
Delicious panini, tagliere, wines by the glass and bottle, and all manner of sauces, pastas, etc to take home with you.
The service is welcoming and professional, and while sometimes it might take a bit longer for your food to come out, you know that it's being prepared with lots of care.
I suggest the Rimini (ham with artichoke paste)... but most everything is good! -

Oh a wet grey Sunday this piece of the Mediterranean lifted my spirits no ends.
The interior is simple but warm and homely. I love the cured meats that they have hanging from behind the counter, you can also order them to go.
I got the Modena which is cooked ham, cheese & grilled artichoke. I opted for it as a wrap, i forget the actual term for the wrap but it was more like a crepe material, it was absolutely delicious. Cost was €5.50.
Service was friendly and fast, I definitely would recommend it as a lunch spot. -

My favourites here: Spritz, of course, and Tagliere Trentino!

I love the atmosphere of a cafe in which the staff actually like their jobs and each other. It's so refreshing to be greeted by a smile and a bit of friendly banter. Even better when they make you feel as though they've invited you into their living room.
Taste of Emilia invited me to spend a half hour or so in the living room that is this cosy little cafe/bar/restaurant. I could have sat there all afternoon, soaking up the chilled out vibes and merriment of the group of charming people who work here.
Authentic Italian fare is the pride and joy of this establishment, and from what I could gather last Friday afternoon, the majority of the workers are Italian also. The cafe has a distinctly Italian feel to it, many of the customers are Italian (so it must be good), and while I was there a handsome man pulled up outside on his vespa... Bellissimo! A slice of Italy without the language barrier.
My mission that afternoon was coffee, but the 5 euro glasses of prosecco and wonderful looking antipasto platters almost tempted me into staying on for dinner.
Taste of Emilia would be the perfect place to begin an evening on the town - my girlfriends and I are going to sample the prosecco and platters very soon indeed. -

Just a quick note to voice my appreciation of this wonderful hotspot. It's quickly becoming the place to go Saturday night for wine and Italian apperitifs.
The manageress really adds some spunk to this venue. She's Irish but has a great grasp of Italian culture. She'll joke with customers and whizz around the place, dishing up bruschetta and salami.
The food here is so tasty. I ordered the large parma meat plate and it was enough to fill the gap.
There was a great energy in Taste of Emilia, dances tunes inside and lots of laughter and carrousing outside.
Except for one drunk looking for attention outside, the night went off without a hitch.1 Previous Review: Show all »

looks like a bit of a deli, a bit of a restaurant or cafe. tried a glass of red wine. it was nice but not outstanding. also tried one of their bruschettas which was nice but just tasted like a pizza with a sort of big slice of bread for a crust. i've had very nice bruschettas before which had very fresh tomatoes on top, not just pizza sauce. their sliced meat dishes did however look quite good. next time i'll try their coffee. the staff and service is good and the place is quite small but gives it a nice cozy atmosphere.
