This branch of Tesco Extra is a huge branch of the grocery chain, it is located in Trinity Square in Gateshead, an area which also includes a Nando's branch, Burger King, Vue Cinema and a Costa Coffee.

This is quite a large Tesco Extra store, and is one of the two biggest stores I have visited including a branch in the Horwich area of Bolton fairly close to the Macron Stadium.

One huge negative I noticed as soon as I went to this store is how hard it is to get to on foot, to the point it is a rather long walk despite being about a quarter mile away from my hotel, mainly down to a lot of road crossings leading up to this store and a lack of entrance or sign-posts for pedestrians to get in, I dangerously had to walk through the Underground Car Park.

The store inside actually really impressed me with a huge range of most products, especially Free From with a large cupboard station, and even a good ready meals section in the fridge, featuring a paella I've not seen at branches of Tesco before.

The staff here I spoke too, seemed nice enough, they didn't stand out and it wasn't always easy to fine people when I needed them, however even the local people of Newcastle who I've found to be so friendly, helped me find the frozen section.

The store also has a decent selection of games, even stocking Crash Bandicoot on the PS4 for £27.99 which has been like gold-dust recently, and even harder to get hold of than a Liverpool fan for weeks after Steven Gerrard's famous slip.

This leads me to one of my most difficult decisions in terms of rating the business, on one hand I feel the lack of scan as you shop facilities which even smaller stores have, and the fact it is so hard to get into this store and you have to pay for parking if you do park lets me down, but the fact that this is a huge store with a great range which puts other Tesco stores to shame, especially for Free From and even other items such as iced coffee beverages and fresh fruit and smoothies really impresses me, so by the skin of its' teeth, maybe even by 0.001%, this place has stepped over the line to warrant a four star rating.
