Nice little tea spot! And by little i mean small! And by small I mean the prices. Compared to some tea rooms it was very reasonably priced for tea.

There is a seating/smoking area out the back. Not sure how many seats out there but indoors it caters for about 18 bums on seats.

Will defiantly return for more joy!

Nice tea house that was a little hard to find using the yelp app. I've edited the address and sent it in for approval, so the app should send you in the right direction in future.

The place is cosy, if a little quirky and definetely a bit cramped. But once I found a seat and settled in, I found the place very charming and nice to be in.

It was fairly busy, which added to the atmosphere. There was only one member of staff though, who was snowed under. So I got a coffee and skipped ordering any food. I reckoned it would have take a while due to the understaffing. The one guy did play a blinder to be fair and kept everyone happy.

I would definitely return if in the area and needed a nice cup of tea with a sit down.

Unlike men, not all tea houses are created equal. Places like Wall & Keogh and the Tea Garden have raised the bar so high that the Joy of Cha can't help coming across as a little mediocre.

Mind you, mediocre still means it has some good points. The tea selection is pretty interesting. It's not as massive as the previously mentioned, but they tend to offer strange concoctions of their own and not a rigid choice of well-known blends and styles.

You'll either find the interior charming or aggravating; it oscillates between quirky and crumbling. Seriously, the place looks like it's made entirely of spent matches, orange paint and hope. It's got a moodily lit smoking area out back too that reminds why I used to enjoy smoking so much.

    Its ok...

I just wanted an espresso instead it felt like i got an americano... or tripple espresso.... I wasnt in the mood for it. My friend got the strawberry tea and loved it... Yum was heard at every sip.

Ill have to go back, quirky place, i enjoyed the decor... small but great for intinmate chats etc... and a good cuppa(if i drank it)

Cute little place and it was open past 6pm today, Hurrah!  A lovely balmy day to catch up with an old school friend, seated outside over a latte and a mug of tea. It's usually closed when I venture there, so it was nice to see it staying open today.

    Great people-watching spot too.

This is quirky spot, it's tiny inside, I kept banging my head off a shelf  but my head is empty so no damage was done. The interior reminds me of The Darjeeling Limited for some reason. Just lots of interesting things visually.

There is coffee on the menu but it's a bit silly to order coffee in a place that specialises in tea. I of course tried the chai, they have several varieties, it was very refreshing and the presentation makes you feel like you are having a very special experience.

They have cakes and a lunch menu. It's a great place to drift away.

The Joy of Cha is a charming little tea shop nestled in a quiet corner in Temple Bar. You could easily pass without giving it a second glance, and you should if you're on a hen party, but not if you're after some warming tea.

Spicy, fruity, sweet, tangy, black - the selection of teas is pretty impressive and connoisseurs will feel finally at home. As for the rest of us, it's fun to glance through the menu and take a chance with some minty-fruity-cinnamon delight, almost like selecting a cocktail (except with less nasty toxins, yey!). The setting is quaint and there's a little seating area out the back for sunny afternoons. Perfect for tea and chats!

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. Very nice little place ,small and cosy room. In case the name didn't give it away they specialise in tea, I'm a bit thick that way not being able to interpret signs correctly.

Spent a few hours here, without meaning to and had some very nice, if a little boring green tea, my fellow dossers in the place were a bit braver and had Chai and a Vanilla favoured tea. As Laura said theres plenty of different varieties to chose from.

In case your looking for the place its a bit tucked away in Temple bar but right across from the Project theatre and the purty Kitchen.

They also do great scones and the pannani was a bit stale but with a great filling. Long opening hours also a good feature and beats the awful Starbucks hands down.

It is said orange is a power color and apparently curiosity is the driving characteristic of orange, and with it comes exploration of new things which matches this place just perfectly.
Because this little tea house with this extremely bright orange exterior caught my attention right away, while strolling through Dublin city centre and looking out for new places to have a cup of tea/coffee and chat. So we decided to check it out it was quite nice and "sunny" afternoon so we took the seats in front the place instead inside, just better for people watching while enjoying a cup of tea of coffee...
They offer a nice variety of different teas and hot chocolate option which really sounded tempting. I had a Chai Latte for 2,40 € which is a pretty decent price for a fresh brewed Chai tea and the temple bar location. My friends went for a normal latte and cappuccino, which satisfied their need of new energy but they regret not choosing tea after all which they should have taken considering we been to a tea place...
All in all we had a great time, nice friendly service, good pricing so we properly gonna pop in again to have another cup of tea.

I have been a fan of the Joy of Coffee in the centre of Temple Bar for manys a year, but I never even knew they had a Joy of Cha place around the corner on Essex Street until very recently. I popped in here for a cuppa this afternoon to check it out, and was pleasantly surprised - it is very like its sister, warm and homely with good value lunches and main course daily specials, and a really comprehensive selection of teas that you can enjoy by the mug or the pot. The teas are also available to purchase to take away to enjoy at home, in loose leaf or teabag form.

Love tea? Joy of Cha has the answer! With a menu of a length that would put many a restaurant to shame (all teas!!), and a cute interior that is never too busy, this is a must-see for any tea connoisseur! If you thought tea was just, well, tea...think again, for you are sadly mistaken. If you thought that maybe tea was subdivided into chai and a few herbal alternatives...you're wrong! This place proves that it's not only coffee-addicts who are particular about their drug; tealovers are equally pedantic - and it makes the experience even more enjoyable! The tea is served as it should be, and the staff are friendly and able to recommend and develop a tea to tickle all tastebuds...
