I once wrote to Vue Management to complain about Vue in Romford. The seats were soaked in God-knows what, the screens were covered in mess, there was popcorn everywhere, the projector was projecting wrong, there were balloons randomly in the theatre blocking the top corner of the screen. Their response was at least honest; "Unfortunately, due to the clientele in Romford it is difficult for us to maintain a consistently high quality" - and I believe them.
The Vue in Romford is decent as Multiplexes go; but the problem comes when you find lots of kids who'd rather text each other across the room and make random turrets type noises than watch a movie. We used to avoid this by going to screenings at 11pm. But we found that although the kids were gone, their mess wasn't. I complained a much of times and to be fair to them, I got a few free tickets-- but it got to the point where I'd rather pay to go somewhere else and not have to sit on someones unwanted popcorn.
Cinematically; the films are presented well; good sound and good size screens; but often you'll find coke splashed on screens or my biggest problem; holes in the screen (meaning shiny bright sparkling areas). A cinema that tries to be good but doesn't quite pull it off. Go elsewhere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 28 Jan 2013
I cannot even think of another cinema within a 10 mile radius so purely on convenience alone, this VUE gets 3 stars.
I have never had a bad experience here and have quite enjoyed its placement near Pizza Express for Orange's 2-for-1 Wednesday deal.
if you don't know what i'm talking about, please see here: http://web.orange.co.uk/article/pizzaexpress
A cheap, convenient, enjoyable date night for half price? YES PLZ!
They have the latest movies and a nice selection of pickamix sweets.
What more could you want?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thomas S.London, United Kingdom8765 Jul 2015
Went here today to catch a movie, on a whim, with my partner. Pre-booked tickets to save time once we got there.
Once we arrived we then had to then queue for 15 minutes to print our tickets...then 25 minutes to get our food (which we had prepayed for with our tickets)
The surroundings are great, cinema comfortable, sound and screen perfect...but the whole place just comes across as chaotic and under staffedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susana P.Austin, United States7917915829 Apr 2010
This Vue cinema is great, you can either buy your tickets downstairs from a dedicated ticket desk, or go up some escalators and buy your tickets with your popcorn, or you also have the choice of buying them online and collecting them from a ticket machine.
In the main lobby, you have a Ben & Jerry's stand from where you can get some yummy ice cream, next to the stand they have a selection of pick and mix. The lobby looks nice, but is always pretty busy during the evenings so I suggest getting there early. As Paul mentioned there is a lack of food, but to be honest there aren't many cinemas that do a huge range. As this is near a shopping complex there are a few places you can go to eat.
I am a huge popcorn fan, and Vue does do tasty popcorn. The screens are good and the seats are comfortable, this Vue is great to watch any film =)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Josh M.Romford, United Kingdom021 Aug 2010
The Vue cinema can be, more or less, described as being satisfactory. I mean, Vue has sways offered all the latest movies at decent, non overpriced prices but thease benefits are out weighed by poor customer service, lack of security and heavily overpriced food. For example my friend and I were watching a movie when he needed to go to the toilet, it was his first time at the cinema so he asked a local employee were they in a rude fashion and tone redirected him to the toilets as if he didn't care less where he sent my friend to.
Then we have security, it ranges from bad to good, when there is roudeness in the cinema I always alert a nearby employee for help. Sometimes they rush and get the security in seconds, other times they just casually walk and I takes like 10 minutes just to "call" security. The prices of food are, meh, sometimes there will be a variety of deals on meaning you'll get a good deal, others will be stricken with penny pinching as you see the overpriced food and drink (Come on a £5 for a drink!)
So Vue is a decent cinema, don't expect the process of going and leaving to be the greatest experience everdue to employees, but the sheer gratitude of movies to watch there is one of the only reseans going to the movies can be pleasurable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Ell-BB…)Chigwell, United Kingdom24029 May 2009
A great cinema, very comfortable seats, huge screens with a wide selection of films and events including world cinema, music performances and subtitled movies. Cheap Tuesdays means you can get discounted tickets with a members card. Staff are always friendly and will often offer free posters. You can but tickets from any till here so ques are not normally a problem.

I don't take a trip to the cinema much these days but when I fancy going to watch a movie Vue Romford is a decent cinema with a good variety of films on show to pick from. The food is a bit pricey, but then again cinema usually is expensive. The cinema could do with some expansion as well as well but on the whole its of a good standard.
