This is a nice pub, downstairs is good when there's a trad music session happening. Upstairs is ok, needs a makeover but can have a great atmosphere when there's a crowd up there. Good pint.
Went for breakfast today. Good portions for good value in bright surroundings upstairs. Haven't really drank there in the evening but it seems lively enough for a drink in clean and friendly surroundings
Nice pub, lovely beer, and exceptional local folks that know how to make you feel welcome! Thanks Martin and Aido! We really enjoyed our visit to Clonkalkin! Steering Wheel has an upstairs area including an outdoor section with heating lamps to keep you warm while you smoke.
