First time trying fish and chips! Really tasty- a bit pricy but nice atmosphere and quality fish. Get the skinny chips...much crispier!

Only beer in cans but wine on tap for those wine drinkers

My review is about the fish and chips take away little restaurant (SIDE take away area and a stand up bar to eat), not the actual restaurant itself that serves a deferent menu and has normal seatings.

BY FAR MY FAVORITE FISH and CHIPS in DUBLIN!!!
I've been looking for fish and chips that were as good as the fish and chips that I used to eat back in Norwich, UK.
Howth, meets up to that expectation, however, in Dublin,  it is Very difficult to find that, however, in this place, fish is very good, it's freshly cooked to order, nice and crunchy, chips are freshly cooked as well. And by far the best onion rings I've ever had in my life.

I am a regular there and I everyone I took with me enjoyed it and wished to have known of it earlier.

They have a great student deal, fish and chips for 6.5€.

Definitely recommend it for fish and chip fans!

Where do I start, SMS looks great from the outside but the food they sell quite the opposite ! I have just returned to Dublin after being on holiday for a week and had a hankering for Fish & Chips. Paid over twenty euro to take away for two people and when I opened the very nice SMS box I taught they had mixed my order up as I seen a battered sausage. I soon discovered that this was no sausage in batter but was instead a extremely skinny fresh cod !!!! Call me old fashioned but you wouldn't get this in a good fish shop. They get one star for the trickery they use to attract customers into there over priced tasteless establishment.

Came in on a saturday for brunch and was the only person in the restaurant from the start of my meal to the finish. Doesn't seem like a super popular brunch spot but I sat in and ordered a lemonade and the crab salad with hash browns, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce with a side of avocadoes.

The lemonade came first and within the first sip, I realized that it was a spritzer. I am not a fan of carbonated drinks so I explained that the menu had no indication of it being fizzy and my server kindly took it back and offered to take it off my check. When my food arrived, the first thing I thought was "that's quite a small portion for €15".

I enjoyed my meal for the most part. The crab salad was good, the end was poached well, the hash brown was thin and very delicious, but the hollandaise sauce was o.k. I squeezed a lot of lime on the dish to balance out the weird taste of the hollandaise sauce.

The lemonade was still on my check when it arrived and I had to explain to the person who brought my check that the other server had taken my drink back and was supposed to take it off-- a miscommunication that could've easily been avoided as I was the only patron. Overall, I don't think I would spend €15 on food that barely filled me up again but it was good and I would recommend trying this place out if you are willing to shell out a little more for brunch!

Got a fantastic brunch here for the Yap on Yelp event. I've wanted to try this place for ages, but the lack of veggie options here means it is hard to get my girlfriend to go here. That said, there are actually a few things on the brunch menu for the herbivorously inclined.

The place has a nice ambiance; brightly lit, cool artwork featuring old style diving suits and 50s style pinups. I ordered a Bloody Mary to start with. It was the nicest Bloody Mary I have ever had. It was nice and spicy and garnished with a pickle, an olive, a giant prawn and chili flakes. I would recommend these to people who don't even like Bloody Marys (Maries?).

I ordered the the duck sausage with English muffin. It was pretty amazing. The duck sausage is more like a duck burger; a giant meaty patty of delicious duck. It was tender and delicious. Its served with red onion and a fried egg on top. It also comes with rocket leaves and crispy onions. A couple of people in the group ordered the same and were not disappointed. I ordered a side of Hollandaise sauce and turned it into an improvised Duck Benedict. (I think everything should come with Hollandaise sauce to be honest). My one complaint would be that there were very few crispy onion pieces and a lot of rocket. It was a bit bland; very lightly dressed and basically just a pile of leaves, not even a salad really.

I would definitely be back to try some other brunch dishes and definitely another Bloody Mary.

Was very lucky to be treated to a brunch here as part of a Yap on Yelp event this weekend. I had never been to Super Miss Sue as I had gotten the impression that the menu was exclusively fish based, and I am vegetarian. Turns out I was wrong about this and they actually have a nice varied menu, with fish being their speciality I believe! We got to try their brunch menu, which offered some nice variations on your typical brunch dishes.

I decided to try the Baked Eggs. They were billed as "Bloody Mary style, with croutons and celery salad". I thought this sounded really interesting so I was looking forward to it! The dish I  got was nice but did not quite live up to my expectation. It was basically a tomato based sauce with three eggs sitting on top, and some shaved celery. It was only when I was half way through that I realised they had forgotten the croutons. While it was nice enough, it didn't blow me away. I did feel that the price of  €14 was quite expensive for what I got.

Overall I think maybe I just chose the wrong dish for me, everyone else's food looked lovely so I'd be willing to give them another try.

I haven't been for anything except the brunch & I've had the chips and onion rings from the chipper part.

In terms of brunch, I'm not a huge fan of breakfast in general (weird I know) but I'd think their menu is one of the most creative in Dublin.

I usually go with friends and some favourites are the eggs benny on ham hock, the grilled cheese sandwich and the duck sausage.

The main event here is the Bloody Mary. Hands down the best in town. Come for the Bloody Mary, dip a chip in it. Go home happy.

I f***ing love this place. This was my second time having dinner at SMS. The 1st time I was on a date and the staff and food, oh and the wine was just lovely. I've been a couple times for brunch and always enjoy it. I'm a pretty big fish fan so this place always appeals to me.
I dropped in for an early dinner this evening by myself and sat at the bar. The Brazilian girl that served me was so lovely and welcoming, sorry I never got her name : /
I had the tuna starter, a portion of chips (omg the chips!!) and a side of marinated olives. Everything was delicious thanks to the chefs :)
The staff here are super chill, very friendly, and I think it's them that makes SMS such a nice meal experience.
Get the bloody mary, just go and get the bloody mary!! the prawns served with it, soooo good!
Thanks for being deadly SMS, I'll be back again soon

Another great weekend brunch spot in town - coupled with the company of Emily and fellow elite Yelpers, even better!

The crab salad with poached eggs and hash browns was inventive and delish... not a trace left on the plate when I was done.  Big call out to the spinach risotto with crispy ham as well which was mighty tasty.

Service was attentive and all dishes were served up at the same time, which is always a major thumbs up for me when dining in a big group.

Will definitely come again - and pair my brunch with a jug of mimosa!

    Oh yeah!

The SMS brunch menu is a contender alright! Its almost to hard to make your choice of brunch as the more you read the menu the more you want each item on it!

My pick was the Duck Sausage & egg Muffin, red onion, rocket & crispy onions. Did I have high hopes? Yes. Did it deliver? YES! The sausage (shaped as a burger patty) is almost like a pulled duck burger if you can get your head around that one! Very tasty and the egg on top is just magic!

The portion size is just bang on leaving just enough room for a dessert after. after being seated the staff were very quick to get around and make sure we all had drinks and water, the food was also brought out very quickly, the timing was perfect.

As I said earlier, the menu has a lot to choose from, a great reason to go back for more.. :-)

Oh, nearly forgot to thank Emily from Yelp for laying on this amazing spread! Its good to Yelp - the rewards are great! #Elite2016

Average enough meal in here last night. We ordered a seafood platter to share and it was on special for €55 instead of €70, still pricey for what it was. Fed two of us but didn't consider the seafood to be of the highest standard (what is this city's obsession with tasteless chewy dry frozen tiger prawns?? At that price I'd like a couple of Dublin bay prawns please!) nor was it a hugely generous platter IMO. Sides of chips and new potatoes with butter and samphire were very yum. Service was good, our waiter was a very nice fellow. Room is lovely. But not sure I'll be rushing back tbh.

Lucky me had some delicious brunch here today on a Yap on Yelp event. Class place, great location and very good first impression when you are walking in. It's chic, service staff is very friendly and their main feature fish stands out looking at the counter.

Reading about Super Miss Sue I got very excited about the crab salad, obviously that was my choice this afternoon.
With a group of 10 people food envy can happen pretty quickly but, the crab salad was the best choice  great hash browns, topped with crab meat, 2 poached eggs which were perfectly done and sauce hollandaise betted with some greens.. I ate every single piece of food of my plate and as far as I could see everyone who had the same did the same too!!!
....one of the girls had a spinach risotto with Parma ham, I tried it and it was delicious - I might go for it next time.

Price wise SMS is quite high, the crab salad is 15€ which I believe could be slightly less, however it's amaZing!!! On the other hand drinks are ok, I had a sparkling ginger for 2,50€ - a price not to top.

One thing I'd love to see different - brunch menu has really only one fish dish - come on, you guys are known for the shipper next door and for being great with fish, is there nothing else you can create? Pleeeeaaaaasssseee

Yap for yelp brought us to a place called Super Miss Sue
I was ever so excited, it made me go 'woohoo'!

Scanning the menu -hmmm, not a whole lots of fish
There wasn't much option, than to go for an eggy dish

The west coast crab &  poached eggs is what I went for
Ooh lala, they tasted so good , this tasted like more!

The eggs were poached to perfection....drool!
Smiles around the table, yeah...this place is cool!

One star knocked off, as I find it  a little bit dear
But I'll finish this review now with a cheer:

'Thanks a million to the lovely Emily
You made us one big happy Yelp Family'

Thanks to a Yap on Yelp event I got to come here to try out brunch. Greeted by friendly waitresses, and tap water before we had a chance to look at the menu, I picked sparkling ginger to drink, and West Coast Crab Salad, poached eggs, hash browns and hollandaise for my meal. Beautiful presentation, nice, memorable napkin designs and delicious food, it seemed a good place to come for brunch.

My one complaint (this is personal preference) was that the brunch menu was very egg based - other than the caramelised pink grapefruit, or pancakes (I know they contain eggs but less egg tasting ones), every other dish available contained eggs as an essential component, (fried, poached, scrambled etc). Not being a big fan of eggs, this made options more limited/meant you are almost forced to eat them. If you are a fan - then it's the place for you.

    This place is so great!!!

First, the portions are the perfect size...huge without being overwhelming. Also, the breading around the fish is perfectly crispy and the fish itself is so fresh and buttery!

The fries are the perfect plane crispiness to not take away from the amazing fish. I come back to this place over and over.

Bonus student discount of 6.50 with ID!

I was very impressed by SMS. It's been somewhere I've been meaning to try for a fair while now.

I got the meat platter and the mozzarella. All of it was delicious, really good. Of course it was far far too much for little me (ha), so they kindly boxed up what I didn't eat and I brought all the left over loveliness home with me.

My husband wasn't as impressed as me though. Reckons for the price they could be more imaginative with each fish type instead if offering the same sauce and sides with all the fish on offer. Alas I don't think anywhere will live up to Fishy Fishy cafe for him.

The toilet is quite cool and nicely decorated, but it is far far too dark to see what you're doing. Which must make it very difficult if you're a man. You need a bit of light to aim, amirite?!? Sadly the loo did smell like somewhere a man would pee in the dark.

I'd go back again. But not sure I'd be able to convince hubby.

A tasty Saturday brunch with my fellow yelpers, sure what else would ya be doin?! Glad I finally had an excuse to come here and it was yum. I had the spinach risotto which was rich and heavenly, it was missing the poached egg but the dish didn't suffer for it. The crispy ham on top added a lovely texture so I was certainly satisfied. The crab salad looked fab and would try that next. Not the best brunch I've had but all in all worth a visit!

I've heard a lot about super miss sue but mainly for the sea food and fish and chips. A friend recommended me the place for brunch. Went there around 1 and we got a table for 2 without waiting. However it got busy pretty fast as the place isn't big. I loved the interior with the bar. Ordered the grilled cheese with fries and a fried egg. It was delicious. I have to say we waited for 45' but the staff was so nice that we actually didn't mind.
