I visited this park on a Sunday afternoon in May 2021 with my friend and fellow Yelper, Christina P. The park is located in Parma, Ohio and this was my first time there.
TENNIS COURTS -- I arrived to play tennis. There are about 8 tennis courts which is plenty for a park. When I arrived around 4pm, there were people playing tennis and about 5 courts open. The tennis courts are all hard surface and it felt good to play on them. The nets seemed well kept as well. I have no complaints about the conditions of the court.
The park itself has a big grassy field that sits on a hill just across from the tennis courts. I heard that there used to be a swimming pool here but that has since been removed. I didn't get to walk around the other side of the park.
PROS -- Clean park with plenty of tennis courts.
CONS -- There aren't many benches to sit on by the big grassy field and I didn't see any swings or play activities for kids. I don't have kids but I'm assuming that families with kids would prefer a park with swings or slides.
Well, now that I think about it, there are benches by a big open structure in the ground which I hear will become a man-made pond soon. Be careful if you bring kids here because they may easily slide down and fall into it.
If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be back to play tennis since I love tennis.

This is a nice park that I've been going to since I was a kid. Now, I take my kids to this park for walks, fishing, and tennis lessons. When I was a kid, it was called, "State Road Park" and it had a swimming pool. Well, that pool has closed and the park has been renamed. Also, there used to be excellent dirt mounds that we used to jump on our bikes. These have since been bull dozed and grass was planted in their place. In fact, a portion of the parking lot was returned to grass and a cell phone tower was erected.
Parma added five new tennis courts recently. My kids take tennis lessons here in the summer and I walk around the lake and the paved walking trail. This park has a large playground, putt-putt, baseball fields, lake, two sand volleyball courts, 10 tennis courts, a batting cage, restrooms, snack bar, exercise course, disc golf course, and a pavilion. Every July, Parma hosts movies in the park.
I'll keep coming to this park until I move out of Parma.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 11 Apr 2014
My friend is an avid disc golfer and said that this is a great local course. We decided to spend our lunch break walking on the one mile or so paved loop. There are little fitness stations that allow for different activities including stations for dips, pull-ups, parallel bars and a rope climb. On the rope climb on my descent back down I moved my head too fast past my left hand and I drilled my eyelid with my thumbnail. It started bleeding a bit and I had to return to the office looking like I got into a scrap during lunch break. I am so thankful that I did not pop out my eyeball because an inch or so lower and that would have been a real possibility. This could have been the worst day of my life. This was a great life lesson. I am thankful for each normal passing day because any day could be a horrible one.

Not a bad park. I spent much of my time here as a kid running the trails for cross country practice and playing disc golf. It is well-kept and a nice hangout spot. I also like how they added a mini golf course, very nice. The trails have lots of shade, which is nice to run when it's hot out and provides lots of hills and mixed terrain in the woods to better train for cross country season.

The thing I really dig about this park is the one mile pathway you can walk. Through out the one mile there are fitness stations/activities you can do. The mile isn't just flat, there are inclines you gotta walk (nice thigh burner). There is also a nice play ground, I'm pushing 30 and I have a blast playing on it. They added some exercise machines, by the play ground. The concept is dialed. In reality its not so cool. The machines don't work to well, and need to be oiled. They are kinda tight. They do stay out in the snow and rain. It's rad in the spring/summer because all the deer are out. So pretty. Great place to come running/walking or just playing with the family.

Nice course, reviews on pdga course agree with my opinion. Hilly and wooded, use bright colors to find discs. Tee boxes, signs and tons of parking. When you arrive to the estimated address, there's a huge parking lot near a memorial with a couple big flag poles and benches (across from ball fields). It isn't one of those courses that you'll jump up and down about, but it definitely does the trick and makes you throw precise shots. Enjoy!
